Earlier this year, Luke Sital-Singh became a regular on the Ones To Watch for 2014 lists. From Amazon and Apple to the Guardian and BBC; there was no denying that the singer/songwriter was a force to be reckoned with. Now the prince of acoustic music is dropping his debut album, a process which he describes as exciting and thrilling. (Taken from URBANLUNCH Magazine 2014)
At the start of the year you were hotly tipped by almost every publication to be a singer to watch, has this made the debut release even more pressurising?
I think it’s made it more exciting really. It’s helped to increase my fan base and there’s plenty of my songs out there for people to listen to in the meantime. The album isn’t going to shock anyone who’s heard what I’ve been putting out leading up to it. It’s a continuation of my EPs. I’m just really excited for people to finally get hold of it.
How did you feel when your name made the masses of 2014 lists?Surprised and delighted. It was great to have some strong proof that my music was connecting with people and that also those ‘in the know’ thought there was something to it. But at the end of the day you just have to take that stuff with a pinch of salt and get on with doing what you were doing.
