If you didn’t know Kwabs this late into 2014…where have you been! This rising musician is hot on the streets of the net and has confirmed his presence with a feature on the FIFA 15 soundtrack. Making waves bigger than ever, we look back at our interview with him earlier in the year. (Taken from URBANLUNCH Magazine 2014).

So your success as a rising star was helped by your online presence on SoundCloud and music blogs, how much significance would you give online media as a platform to start a music career?
Online media has a massive effect on people’s careers when they’re starting out, providing that what they’re doing is good. It gives artists the chance to showcase their music in a way they couldn’t before. It also empowers fans to directly support the careers of artists they love by sharing that music publicly.

[Interview] : Luke Sital-Singh

Earlier this year,  Luke Sital-Singh became a regular on the Ones To Watch for 2014 lists. From Amazon and Apple to the Guardian and BBC; there was no denying that the singer/songwriter was a force to be reckoned with. Now the prince of acoustic music is dropping his debut album, a process which he describes as  exciting and thrilling(Taken from URBANLUNCH Magazine 2014)

At the start of the year you were hotly tipped by almost every publication to be a singer to watch, has this made the debut release even more pressurising?
I think it’s made it more exciting really. It’s helped to increase my fan base and there’s plenty of my songs out there for people to listen to in the meantime. The album isn’t going to shock anyone who’s heard what I’ve been putting out leading up to it. It’s a continuation of my EPs. I’m just really excited for people to finally get hold of it.

How did you feel when your name made the masses of 2014 lists?Surprised and delighted. It was great to have some strong proof that my music was connecting with people and that also those ‘in the know’ thought there was something to it. But at the end of the day you just have to take that stuff with a pinch of salt and get on with doing what you were doing.
